『スパイ』誌の編集から文学評論と短編小説や風刺小説が評価され、脚本に進出。卓越したリサーチ力と筆力を駆使した史劇『トリポリ』（'07年完成予定）を20世紀フォックスに売却して、一躍、注目を集めた。今後も、香港映画『インファナル・アフェア』のリメイク『ザ・ディパーテッド』や『ジュラシック・パーク4』を手掛けるなど、ハリウッドでもっとも期待される存在に。

Was paid a mid-six figure sum for his spec script Tripoli (2007) in the fall of 2001. That script landed him the deal to write Kingdom of Heaven (2005). Both projects are set up with producer Mark Gordon at 20th Century Fox, and have Ridley Scott attached to direct both.

Won Pushcart Prize for short fiction, 1997. He also wrote the novel, "Light House" in 2000.
